How To Find The Cure For Insomnia

If you have sleep problems and suffer from insomnia, you start looking for “The Cure for Insomnia”. The simpler the better so you can get on with your life.

Going to see your doctor you will most probably be given sleeping pills . So you’re OK now ?!

However , it isn’t that simple – if you are suffering from problems sleeping the best long term results will be achieved if you do some basic research.

Your research should focus on find out why you can’t sleep well.  Here are some tips to help you to find out where to look for the reasons behind your insomnia problems.

One way of investigating the cause(s) of insomnia is to split them into several categories , each of which has to be looked at separately

Some examples are shown below:

#    Physical –  respiratory problems, i.e asthma or hay fever;  the common cold ;  tinnitus;  pain caused by tooth ache , back ache and migraines ;   arthritis ;  physical injuries.

#    Physiological –  napping during the day ;  exercising late ;  jet lag ;  loud noises .

#    Psychological –  grieving   being stressed   worrying ;  anticipation ;  being tense .

#    Psychiatric -  depression ;  being anxious ;  suffering from a

#    Pharmacological -  drinking , beta blockers;  corticosteroids;  coffe or tea ;  nasal decontestants;   some asthma remedies;  some anti depressvie medication .

#    Environmental -  your bedroom being too cool or too warm   noise ;  light ;  diverse allergies .

#     24 hour rhythm Imbalances -  problems sleeping caused by your “inner clock” being out of phase with daily life. One example is teenagers,

who usually sleep late, or older people , where it is too early .

If you look at the categories above , and think about it, you probably realize that you can make it even simpler .

Either the causes of your insomnia are outside of yourself -  physiological, environmental, physical – or they can be found “inside” yourself”.  You may object to this but I did say “simpler”!

It is commonly said that maybe 75% – 80% of sleeping difficulties has a psychological background, such as anxiety or depression.  Of course, 
turning it around , long term insomnia often lead to depression.

As you can see, there is no such thing as A “Cure For insomnia”. 

To repeat : you can first try to find out whether the problem is stemsfrom “outer” causes – and if so , attempt to change  these .

If you think the main causes arise inside yourself, try to change yourself .
